Worth The Splurge
Clarisonic Cleaning System, $125
A Clarisonic is a professional-grade skincare brush, and I use mine almost every day. It thoroughly cleans my skin and it does a great job removing my makeup and clearing out my pores. Using it allows my skincare products to absorb better because the brush cleanses my skin so well. A Clarisonic is one beauty staple every girl should have.
Chanel Soleil Tan Moisturizing Bronzing Powder, $50
This Chanel bronzer in #64 Desert Bronze gives me the perfect glow because it is a mix of brown and orange. Some bronzers can be too orange, making you look like an Oompa Loompa, or too brown, making my skin look dirty. But this is a warm shade that looks true to my skin tone and leaves a lovely natural radiance to my complexion. I always finish off my beauty routine with a few sweeps of this illuminating powder for a gorgeous glow.
Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm, $32
I actually learned about this amazing lip balm after I saw Rachel of Team LC using it one day when we were all taking a lunch break. She swept it over her lips and explained that it takes your natural lip color and simply enhances it. Everyone’s lips take on a different hue with this balm, but it always looks natural. I love how wearing it looks like I have lipstick on, when really it’s just a creamy, smooth balm. My lips turn a light raspberry color—you’ll have to try it to see what it does for yours!
Joe Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey Body Crème, $75
Let me start by saying all Joe Malone products are amazing—the candles are to die for. But this body cream is definitely worth the $75. It goes on feeling rich but instantly sinks into your skin, giving you a hydrated glow. And the incredible scent alone makes it worth every penny. I like to mix it with a little bit of coconut oil before applying it to my skin.
Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara, $30
I don’t like to wear much makeup when I leave the house. I usually apply a dollop of tinted moisturizer, a sweep of blush, and a few coats of mascara. So, since I generally rely on three essential products, I’m pretty serious about each one. I stick to Chanel mascara because it looks natural, but does a great job of enhancing my lashes. There are never clumps, and one tube can last for up to a few months
emerginC Scientific Organics At-Home Facial Peel + Clarifying Kit, $90
Skincare is one area that you really don’t want to skimp on, in my opinion. I have oily skin that is prone to breakouts, and this all-natural at-home peel works wonders in removing dead skin cells and brightening my complexion. Plus, each kit contains 60 pads, which will last you two whole months even if you are using them daily, as recommended.
Shu Uemura Essence Absolue Nourishing Protective Oil, $69
I never blow dry my hair without first working a couple pumps of this moisturizing oil into my mane. It leaves my hair silky soft (but never greasy), and protects from UV rays. Win-win! As a bonus, I hear it’s great for fighting frizz on curly hair too!
Deborah Lippman Nail Color, $18 – $20
It’s true that Deborah Lippman’s polishes are about 2-3 times the price of other polishes on the market, but she always seems to release that perfect color that you can’t find anywhere else. Case in point: I was on the quest for the perfect nude for months until I finally discovered ‘Fashion.’ Her fun glitter polishes are must-buys as well.
Bond No. 9 Saks Fifth Avenue For Her Body Cream, $120
I know that $120 for body cream seems a little extreme, but once I got a whiff of this scent from Bond No. 9 I was practically powerless to resist. The scent is heavenly (with notes of gardenia, jasmine, and vanilla), it stays on your skin for hours, and it dries with a soft and powdery finish—not the oily feeling that a lot of other lotions have.
YSL All-In-One BB Cream in Medium, $50
I had never used BB cream before I tried this one by YSL, and once I wore it, I instantly fell in love. I use it instead of foundation. I put it on my face right after moisturizing and before putting on bronzer. It also has SPF 25 in it, so I don’t have to worry about applying sunscreen when I use it.
DiorShow Brow Styler, $29
This is my favorite brow pencil, hands down. I have really uneven eyebrows that also happen to be pretty thin, so I have to fill them in and even them out as much as possible. This one does such a great job. It also lasts forever, which I love.
Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream, $55
I’ve tried countless face moisturizers, and finally found the most amazing face cream. This one smells amazing and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. But the best part is that when I put it on, it feels like my skin is drinking a big glass of water.
